A magic island full of sun, and fun and new friendships that had begun…….. Tavarua is one of those places you dreeeeam of going .I had watched it in Kelly Slater in black and white and from then on it planted the seed of hope that one day i might be able to go there…. Thanks to rusty that seed blossomed into one of my favouritest trips …..It was so fun and so homely you didnt get home sick and you never wanted to leave …..The surf was to me really overwhelming its such an open ocean wave and full of power , everyone there got sick waves even the mumma’s who surfed the rights on the end of the island and the groms ruled kiddies ,a playful wave right out front of the resturant .I made a new friend …..mel,and we stand up paddled around the whole island and played at kiddies for a couple of hours out front and time was non existent……floating on the water as the sun went down it was so fun and amazing …i also got to go fishing with Rusty himself and lifeguard Jonny….. it was so so so fun we caught 5 tunas and it was my first massive fish …. 30 pounder ….yew!!!Dinner was amazing as usuall we had a feast of something tasty and different every night and also shared it with legendary Greg Noll and his wifeOne of the nights was St Patties day and everyone got into the spirit and wore green thanks to Angie we were all glittering green and boogied on into the night …..also celebrating drew’s birthday ….I got to live in a tree house for the week with new roomy cindy ….it was so cute and then a massive storm hit hahahaha the tree house wobbled and swayed but luckily i was passed out from all the cava i drank with the locals that night after the fijian ceremony for us ……so i was not scared just rolling with it being rocked like a baby in a bassenett by the force of mother nature…..strong as a vodka straights! it was such an amazing trip and little adventure shared with the most funnest amazing people and one i will always remember and am happy to share …..kalm.x.
